Summary

This unique opportunity provides an educational travel experience for high school students with a passion for leadership, civic engagement, and learning about the nation’s history. The program selects a small group of students each year to participate in a week-long tour of the U.S. capital, where they visit national monuments, meet elected officials, and attend leadership events designed to inspire civic responsibility and personal growth.

Eligible applicants are high school sophomores and juniors who reside in specific service areas within a Southeastern U.S. state. Candidates must demonstrate leadership potential, academic commitment, and involvement in school or community activities. While a formal nomination is encouraged, students may also apply independently if they meet the eligibility criteria.

This experience is fully funded, meaning all major expenses such as travel, lodging, meals, and event admission are covered for the selected participants. The goal is to remove financial barriers and ensure deserving students can take part in this immersive and transformative journey.

The application process typically opens in the fall or winter, with a set deadline early in the new year. Finalists may be invited to participate in an interview with a panel of judges who help identify students who best represent the values and mission of the program.

This opportunity not only connects young leaders with their peers from across the country, but also offers a platform for learning, growth, and inspiration. Students return with a deeper understanding of their civic role, increased confidence, and memories that last a lifetime.
